Petrol, Oil & Diesel Resistance
Petrol, Diesel and Oil resistance on aniline leather is a stage beyond simple stain resistance properties. The named hydrocarbons have a very powerful wetting effect, and as a result it requires a very special formulation of polymers in order to create an ultra low surface tension around the fibres within the leather. The technology has to be used carefully and its compatibility with other retannage chemicals will need to be tested fully. A specific drying procedure is also necessary for this technology to gain maximum performance. Testing has shown that the leather attains a level 5 oil repellence using the AATCC 118-1192 test method. This enhances the appearance of the leather for a greater period of time and ensures the performance of the leather is maintained for longer by protecting it from damage.
