Abrasion Resistance

Abrasion Resistance is a key attribute for many uses of leather, particularly in motorcycling, military and law enforcement applications. Our continuous research in this field has led to multiple technologies that can be applied during the retanning process or the finishing system to significantly increase its protection capability.

Our technology incorporates tailored particulates which are anchored to the leather, generating an ultra-tough shield to the leather, without negatively influencing the flexibility or other technical properties. What we don't do is simply add silicone or waxes in an attempt to fool laboratory testing, which typically do not provide genuine abrasion resistance enhancement in actual wear conditions.
